The Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) is a 26.2-mile road race.Marine Marathon is an intense 26.2 miles and a source to discover the physical fitness. This event is organized in Virginia, Arlington and Washington D.C. the race is also recognized from the title, “The People’s Marathon” as it is attended by a large number of runners every year.The 34th Marine Marathon will be held on October 25, 2009. This mega event is featuring on different activities which include health and Fitness Expo. The 2009 fitness program started from Friday and will end on Saturday at Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, approximately, over 200 exhibitors took place.
An interesting thing is that every year some of the participants participate regularly in this marathon. But the 2008 MCM winners were Andrew Dumm and Cate Fester in men’s and women category, participated in the Marathon for the first time.
Participants will need to regain their race materials at Packet Pick-up which includes their bib number and D-tag. In 34th anniversary of MCM, there will be 34 super-sized goodie bags with some very precious prizes will be distributed among the runners. Aim is to massage some 200 people at the same time to make place in Guinness Book of World Record.
